LONDON SPECIALIST
From our depot at the M1-M25 junction we serve all of Greater London, delivering pallets to businesses in the capital, and picking up freight for onward delivery to the rest of the UK.
Successfully doing this requires experienced trained drivers and a range of vehicles to cope with the particular demands of the urban environment. If you need to send AV equipment to the O2, swimming pool chemicals to the Ritz or grow medium to Kew Gardens, rest assured – we can do it!
LONG EXPERIENCE
Abacus Transport has been built up over 30 years.
Our management team – Gina (MD), Ashley (Customers) and Stuart (Fleet) – have a combined 50+ years’ service at Abacus, driving us forward. Our drivers are fully employed, long-serving professionals, backed by in-house and specialist training. We’re part of HW Coates, the UK logistics leader. We’re committed to our colleagues and customers and are here for the long term.
FLEET
A wide range of modern vehicles within our fleet.
We operate a fully-owned fleet of over 25 vehicles including five 44T Euro 6 units, 15 rigid lorries of 18T and 12T, plus various-sized vehicles and vans up to 7.5T for getting into those tricky central locations. These are backed up with double-deck, straight-frame and urban trailers for local and trunking work. All vehicles have tail-lifts, and all of the fleet is less than three years old.
QUALITY AND SAFETY
We work to a Quality system and hold FORS (Silver) accreditation.
We’re members of the Road Haulage Association – and operate to these terms. All our vehicles are fitted with the necessary safety equipment for ADR (Hazardous Goods Transport) and our drivers are trained to this. We’re backed by HW Coates’ Safety System including policies, procedures and internal auditing, as well as the operating standards of our Palletforce and Hazchem Network memberships. All this comes together to deliver 99% on-time-in-full performance, in full compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
